This card is a go-to favorite design of mine so I decided to share it for the Scrap it Girl June Challenge: Things With Wings. 20140601-151046-54646715.jpg I love it so much! It uses some of my favorite tools and supplies. Here is my card: 20140601-151204-54724975.jpg And a few close-ups: 20140601-151234-54754431.jpg 20140601-151231-54751917.jpg 20140601-151230-54750707.jpg 20140601-151233-54753107.jpg See why it’s a favorite? And it’s great for most sentiments- get well, happy birthday, sympathy, etc. Here are some of the products I used: (all from Stampin’ Up! Just click my “contact” button to email for details on ordering!) 20140601-151410-54850097.jpg The butterfly stamp is called Swallowtail. It’s a large stamp that can be used in a variety of techniques.

Another stamp set is Itty Bitty Banners I used my Big Shot (this thing is FABULOUS!) with Bitty Banners Framelits and Pretty Print embossing folder (retired item).

To achieve the shiny gold effect, I used Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder, VersaMark stamp pad and (another favorite) my Heat Tool and the cute little Embossing Buddy (not pictured… he was being shy)

My ribbon – OHHHH. I LOVE THIS RIBBON! is: 1/2″ Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon.

Choose inks and cardstock colors to achieve the look you want!

So that’s my share- want to get in on the challenge? All the deets are here: Scrap it Girl! and yes! There’s a prize! Thanks for stopping by! God bless! Kathy Bo

I’m always excited for the Scrap It Girl Favorite Things Friday! It gives me a challenge to create something fun.

20140508-221929.jpg
Today I’m blogging from my tiny crafting corner in my RV, somewhere on the east coast just steps away from a long pier where manatees and dolphins frolic in the sea. It’s a sweet spot, if only for a while, then it’s back to reality!
Speaking of reality, let’s get back to it!
This Friday’s assignment is to use our favorite embossing folder.
Mine is Beautifully Baroque from Stampin’ Up!

20140508-222109.jpg
It adds such elegance to a card.
I used it with Graphic 45 paper, the Place in Time collection.
Here’s my finished card.

Hope you enjoy it and maybe get a bit of inspiration to join the fun! If so, just click HERE and add your creation!
Thanks for stopping by, be blessed!

It’s time for the monthly challenge for Scrap it Girl!
The May 2014 challenge for SIG designers is to create a layout or card using a choice of Mother’s Day or Mother Nature. I had this card in mind and decided to give it a whirl.

20140501-232333.jpg
My mom as well as mother in law have both passed so I’m hoping a friend might need this little card.
I used all Stampin Up products to make the card and lined envelope. Here’s the list:
Whisper white card stock
Ink: Pistachio Pudding Crisp Cantaloupe Summer Starfruit Coastal Cabana Island Indigo
Stamps: (retired, but you can choose more here!)
Blessings from Heaven
Delightful Dozen
Best of Butterflies
Other:
Chevron Embossing folder
Spiral flower die (FUN!!)
Big Shot
Rhinestone jewels
5/8 organza ribbon
Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper
I did notice one boo-boo, and that is the pretty envelope- this card really needs a handmade box due to the 3D rose! Oh well, it’s the thought that counts, right?
With two grown kids, two in-law kids and 3 grandLittles, I’m looking forward to Mother’s Day this year.
I hope you have a happy and blessed Mother’s Day too!
Thanks for stopping by! God bless,
Kathy Bo

I love Facebook. Why? Well, first of all it helps me to know the prayer needs of others. Second to that, I get to know when neat things are happening with my kids – like the garden that my son The Boy and his wife Emily are planning.

The post showed them tilling the soil. I knew I had to do something to surprise and encourage them, so I whipped out my Cricut machine and made these:

I will add plant stakes to them so they can stand the signs in their garden. I think my grandLittles will enjoy the fun colors and shapes too!
Here’s how they came together:

20140323-201624.jpg
First, I used Cricut Craft Room to select designs from the Cricut cartridge Freshly Picked . Once I selected the various components, I arranged them on the virtual mat, wrote down the sizes and began cutting.
It wasn’t too difficult to choose colors- earthy, garden colors worked out just fine.

A bit of trimming came next.

Some 2-way glue and a bit of placing elements together came next:

Now it was time to laminate:

I made sure to round the corners when I cut them apart since there will be some little hands in the garden!

20140323-202954.jpg
Once finished, I took them all outside to introduce them to their natural habitat! Here they are again:

I have a few more to make but thought I’d share now just in case I forget to before I mail them.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Visit me on Facebook, “Like” my page and see what’s going on in my creative world! God bless. Kathy Bo
