I love Facebook. Why? Well, first of all it helps me to know the prayer needs of others. Second to that, I get to know when neat things are happening with my kids – like the garden that my son The Boy and his wife Emily are planning.

The post showed them tilling the soil. I knew I had to do something to surprise and encourage them, so I whipped out my Cricut machine and made these:

I will add plant stakes to them so they can stand the signs in their garden. I think my grandLittles will enjoy the fun colors and shapes too!
Here’s how they came together:

First, I used Cricut Craft Room to select designs from the Cricut cartridge Freshly Picked . Once I selected the various components, I arranged them on the virtual mat, wrote down the sizes and began cutting.
It wasn’t too difficult to choose colors- earthy, garden colors worked out just fine.

A bit of trimming came next.

Some 2-way glue and a bit of placing elements together came next:

Now it was time to laminate:

I made sure to round the corners when I cut them apart since there will be some little hands in the garden!

Once finished, I took them all outside to introduce them to their natural habitat! Here they are again:

I have a few more to make but thought I’d share now just in case I forget to before I mail them.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Visit me on Facebook, “Like” my page and see what’s going on in my creative world! God bless. Kathy Bo

Daughter Aubern Michelle and our favorite son-in-law Ian accompanied us to Powers Crossroads Country Fair and Arts Festival during our trip to visit them on Labor Day weekend. This annual fair is held way, way out in the country near Newnan, Ga. Check it out here.

We saw some unusual things such as THIS traveling ATM machine. We didn’t use it, thinking it probably had a huge fee and well, it just doesn’t look trustworthy to me. “Hello bank, I think someone stole my debit card number…. what?… oh, um, the last time I used it was in a truck in the woods…. ” Yeah. I don’t think so.

We lost Ninja Man for a few minutes and he popped up with these fried, yes, fried, Oreos. Ian is helping me hold them up because I cannot believe someone would batter and then fry an Oreo for heaven’s sake. As if that wasn’t enough, they covered them in confectioner’s sugar. See that little bit missing from one??

That is the bite I took. And the only bite. They were incredible but I just couldn’t put any more than that in my body…. it was just so, so wrong.

Then we saw this wonderful garden display. The porch has a water feature that pours off the metal roof into a pond and recycles back to the roof. I have ordered one from Ninja Man. We will see if he will indeed build it one day!

I, being a writer, LOVED this display of word art. Sweet words seemed to float in the air above everyone’s heads. I would love to have all of them. One just wouldn’t do. I would want them to float above my head all the time. Seeing as that would cost a fortune and is pretty much impossible, I left them all in the display booth and didn’t buy a single one.
At the end of the day we retreated to our Aubern and Ian’s new house with the huge, welcoming porch. Deep in the woods, this suburb girl just had to kick back on that porch.

And so I did.

It was a great weekend.
