Check out the details on the video below! My Marker Club is open to U.S. only, and I will ship directly to you.  All the contact info is on the video, so let’s get this going! And if you join Marker Club AND my team (only $99!) just tell me you saw this on my blog and I’ll pay the (U.S.) shipping on your markers for you!

Thanks for stopping by and God bless!

Hearts, hearts and more hearts! That’s my thing all year long, so when the fabulous Scrap It Girl gave this challenge to those of us on the Design Team, I was just thrilled to share this card:

Be my Valentine!

Be my Valentine!

You can see this card in the previous post but now I can share the details!
I created this simple but sweet card with products from Stampin’ Up, and held a workshop where several ladies enjoyed making it. Here are some of them “loving” the creative process: image
What do I love most about this card? Well, hearts are my “thing” all year long – I have a heart on my pillow so when we change pillowcases I know which one is mine, I draw a heart on my take out cup or leftover box and I even have a heart on my toothbrush! It’s not so much about “mine” as it is that hearts just make me happy! So of course I ❤️ the heart!

Here’s what I used to create the card (and it’s a standard A2, which is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2″ card.)
Stampin’ Up:
Card stock: natural, real red
Stamps: the heart came from the Best of series: Best of Love
the sentiment is from Delightful Dozen
Ink: real red
Embossing folder: Beautifully Baroque
Sizzix Bigz Die: Top Note
Ribbon: Very Vanilla 1/2″ seam binding ribbon

Look for these items in my Stampin’ Up store

And if you LOVE hearts like I do, or if you just want to enjoy a fun challenge, play along here and you may receive something sweet!

Thanks so much for stopping by! God bless!

Category: My fave craft storage idea!

This was soooo stinkin’ easy because I love, love, love this desk!

I have two of these desk tops- if you know Ikea, you know that you buy separate components to make what you need. I think “IKEA” in Swede means “genius”!

I store my punches beneath the glass so I can see them at a glance. It’s perfect for pondering my next project!
I have repurposed some Stampin’ Up! shipping boxes to serve as trays for my punches to slide in. One day I hope to find someone who can make some that look nice!
I also store 12 X 12 paper and my go-to cardstock beneath the glass in the other desk. The two desks butt up to one another and create an island in my small studio. Even better is: two desks means two chairs! My crafty friends and I enjoy creating together with a Lazy Susan full of tools, right in the center of my desks!

Here’s the paperwork that came with the desks and supporting units.

I’m so glad I kept up with this paperwork because these are the nicest desks I’ve ever owned, and if anything ever happens to them I will at least have something to go by if we have to find replacements.

Well, I tried to find the glass desk tops online but it seems Ikea doesn’t carry them anymore. I DID find this on Amazon, though!
I challenge you, dear reader, to choose one of your favorite things you enjoy most about your crafting area! Share it below and inspire us!

That’s it for today, y’all have a blessed weekend!

Crafting typically brightens up the world of not only those who create sweet handmade items, but also those who receive such treasures.

But there comes a time when making something is the only thing you can do to offer support and comfort.

The situation is that I’m close enough to a neighbor family that I (along with many, many others) was devastated by the loss of their precious newborn child. But like many neighbors, not so close that I was “needed” for hands-on during their darkest hours.

It’s one of those times that privacy, rest and quiet are the greatest needs. Primal needs. The last thing they needed was to have a parade of folks in and out of their home asking what they could do. We did all we could; the ones who babysit kept the toddler. The ones who walk dogs walked their dogs. The rest of us joined those helpers by praying.

When I was asked to make a card to share on behalf of the neighborhood, I put my whole heart into it, because finally, FINALLY, I could “do” something “hands-on” for this precious young couple.

Powerless. That’s how we all felt- and still feel. There are no words. And so amidst the days of constant prayer and an unbelievable amount of tears, I went into my studio and sat down.

The young mommy loves bright colors, so I tried – really tried- but nothing came together. Likewise, a stoic sympathy card would not express what we as a community felt because just days before, we would have hoped to send cards of congratulations on the birth of this sweet little one.

No, it needed to be soft. Gentle. Not sympathy. It needed to offer support for this little family who desperately hung on to hope and their unwavering faith in God throughout every moment.

And so I made this.

20130924-234657.jpg
Psalm 42:8 is stamped on the front. It offers encouragement and said just what I felt it needed to say. “By day The Lord directs His love. At night His song is with me.”

The colors are soft and quiet. Respectful. Gentle.

I was finishing up the card when I received a text.

Do I have room at my house for family members who are flying in for the service?

Of course I do.

As I was making an envelope to go with the card I thought of the guest room, meals, comforts for weary travelers. Suddenly I have a lot to do.

Hug your kids.

God bless you and yours.
