Archive for the ‘Casserole’ Category

I have a really sweet friend who goes out of her way to cheer others. She has been extremely generous and thoughtful to me at times I needed it the most. I was trying to come up with a gift that would be as special as she, so I made her one of the chicken casseroles (see next post) and Peggy Hudson made some beautiful notecards for her. I totally forgot to photograph the cards! Trust me, they were extraordinary! Check out Peggy’s site here! I highly recommend her work and you will too!

Here’s the card I made. I didn’t realize the image was blurred until I’d already given the card, but you get the idea. I had a Mary Englebreit book that I clipped images from and I use those on cards and gifts. This one has a “friends” theme.

I placed the image on a piece of tan cardstock and framed it in dark green. A simple glue stick is all you need to get a great result. The “friendship” stamp is one of four in a collection from Stampin’ Up. I just LOVE rubber stamps and card making / scrapbooking stuff, but I love sewing more, so I don’t get to make as many cards as I’d like.
The cutting thingie below is made by Fiskars, I think. I have used this device for so many projects I’ve already worn out a couple of blades. It comes in handy for lots of things around the house. I trimmed the edge of the card so it would be more of a “card” size.

I found a bunch of these ink pads in a shop while on vacation years ago. They were .25 each! I couldn’t believe it, took my chances and these little guys are still good three years later.

Here’s the stamped image.

A second stamp helped me to say, “thank you” in a classic way. I later wrote a personal note on the card, but there’s no way to express my appreciation for this delightful friend.
