This card is a go-to favorite design of mine so I decided to share it for the Scrap it Girl June Challenge: Things With Wings. 20140601-151046-54646715.jpg I love it so much! It uses some of my favorite tools and supplies. Here is my card: 20140601-151204-54724975.jpg And a few close-ups: 20140601-151234-54754431.jpg 20140601-151231-54751917.jpg 20140601-151230-54750707.jpg 20140601-151233-54753107.jpg See why it’s a favorite? And it’s great for most sentiments- get well, happy birthday, sympathy, etc. Here are some of the products I used: (all from Stampin’ Up! Just click my “contact” button to email for details on ordering!) 20140601-151410-54850097.jpg The butterfly stamp is called Swallowtail. It’s a large stamp that can be used in a variety of techniques.

Another stamp set is Itty Bitty Banners I used my Big Shot (this thing is FABULOUS!) with Bitty Banners Framelits and Pretty Print embossing folder (retired item).

To achieve the shiny gold effect, I used Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder, VersaMark stamp pad and (another favorite) my Heat Tool and the cute little Embossing Buddy (not pictured… he was being shy)

My ribbon – OHHHH. I LOVE THIS RIBBON! is: 1/2″ Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon.

Choose inks and cardstock colors to achieve the look you want!

So that’s my share- want to get in on the challenge? All the deets are here: Scrap it Girl! and yes! There’s a prize! Thanks for stopping by! God bless! Kathy Bo

I’m always excited for the Scrap It Girl Favorite Things Friday! It gives me a challenge to create something fun.

20140508-221929.jpg
Today I’m blogging from my tiny crafting corner in my RV, somewhere on the east coast just steps away from a long pier where manatees and dolphins frolic in the sea. It’s a sweet spot, if only for a while, then it’s back to reality!
Speaking of reality, let’s get back to it!
This Friday’s assignment is to use our favorite embossing folder.
Mine is Beautifully Baroque from Stampin’ Up!

20140508-222109.jpg
It adds such elegance to a card.
I used it with Graphic 45 paper, the Place in Time collection.
Here’s my finished card.

Hope you enjoy it and maybe get a bit of inspiration to join the fun! If so, just click HERE and add your creation!
Thanks for stopping by, be blessed!

I needed a gift for my pastor and his wife and wouldn’t you know it, the baby is nearly 6 months old and I just got around to doing this.

It’s a taggie blankie, flannel squares of cuteness!

20140116-142741.jpg

20140116-142800.jpg
I found these squares at JoAnn, in a charm square bundle. What could be easier? Oh look! Here they are! I sewed the squares in strips then joined them – yes, this isn’t a “tutorial” so much as a sharing- but you get the idea!

So after I sewed the squares to make the front and back of the blankie, I sewed strips to make little tags. While this was a bit tedious- measuring, cutting, sewing, turning them right side out- it was worth it to coordinate! You can use ribbon- most people do- and I will probably go back to that in the future.

Anyway, I pinned the “tags” inside and then pinned the front and back together. See that tag in the corner? I had to remove it at the end. It made the corners pucker.

20140116-143552.jpg
It’s simple and sweet- a nice little “something” to celebrate a ManCub!

Thanks for visiting! Be blessed!

This started out as just a plain mini clipboard I picked up several last year when they were on clearance. I’m hosting my Christmas Open House next weekend so I thought I’d have a few ready mades available for purchase.

First, I pulled out my mini clipboards.

20131012-002007.jpg
I had to remove the hardware, which wasn’t easy! I used these to accomplish it.

20131012-002150.jpg
I inked the sides of the clipboard with Stampin Up’s Early Expresso ink and I used Sookwang double stick tape to adhere some of that awesome Seasons of Style Designer Series Paper. (See previous post for the same paper used in the wreath project). My Stampin Up 1″ stitched grosgrain ribbon provided just the right finish.

20131012-002649.jpg
I cut a few sheets of copy paper so this clipboard would be ready to use. Voila! A sweet little gift idea in just over an hour.

20131012-002902.jpg
And yes, it has a little stand in back. How stinkin cute!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed weekend!

My GrandLittle turns four today and is he ever the super hero fan! I’m pretty sure he is the “real” Spider-Man – among others, such as Batman, Captain America, etc.
So as we celebrate Asher today, I decided to make this card for him.

20130129-151557.jpg
Of course, there is a story to go with it… It seems that Bear is in training to be a super hero and, well, Spidey got the best of him! As a result, Bear is all tangled up in Spidey’s web.
The video version is right here!
Here’s what I used to make this super cute card:
Action Wobble Springs (I LOVE creating with these!), Stampin Up! (SU) cardstock, SU Apothecary Accents Framelits, SU Big Shot embossing machine, SU Cloudy Day embossing folder, SU Cherry Cobbler heat embossing powder, SU Tombow adhesive, SU Happiest Birthday Wishes clear mount stamps, SU Baker’s Twine, Cricut die cutting machine, Cricut Teddy Bear Parade cartridge and I upcycled an image of Spider-Man by cutting it from some packaging.

20130129-152303.jpg

20130129-152325.jpg

20130129-152334.jpg
I used VersaMark ink to stamp my sentiment and heat embossed the powder. You can see the raised, shiny effect that heat embossing provides. I love to use this method. It is fascinating to see it change from powder to finished image!

20130129-153114.jpg

20130129-153124.jpg

20130129-153133.jpg
I cut the sentiment by using Stampin’ Up’s Apothecary Accents Framelits, but I left one edge straight so I could hook it on the card by a tab.

20130129-153407.jpg

20130129-153417.jpg

20130129-153428.jpg
This is how I store my Framelits- there is a magnetic sheet that holds the metal dies in place.

20130129-153536.jpg

20130129-153547.jpg
Here’s the Cricut cartridge I used

20130129-153646.jpg

Whew! That’s a lot of info! But what a fun card- my GrandLittle has an awesome sense of humor, so I know he will crack up when he sees this!
Y’all have a blessed day, and thanks for visiting!
God bless,
Kathy Bo

I couldn’t imagine what was in store when a friend emailed Monday to say I should watch the postal mail for a “package”. “READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON TOP FIRST!” she said in her email. It came today!

The box was pretty heavy!

And marked: Fragile! Fragile! Fragile!

Oh my.

My friend Angela sent me FIFTY gifts to open beginning tomorrow! Why fifty? Well, I turn the bit “50” on November 27th this year! I am very excited about turning 50! My Red Hat Society friends will “redulate” me soon after my birthday, and now Ange has made this event even more special with a sweet reminder each day! (By the way, the Red Hatters “redulate” you at the age of 50 by retiring your pink hat and replacing it with a red one.) www.redhatsociety.com

This is the coolest thing AND her list of 50 things made me cry buckets!

When I opened the box, there were 50 little gifts, each wrapped individually! Each of the 50 things on her list are clues to a gift, so as I open one each day, I’ll check off the clue!

I got my vintage glass jar from my sewing room, thinking that most of the gifts would fit into it. I’d put it on a bookshelf and enjoy the anticipation of each thoughtful item! Well, as you can see, the jar was no where near big enough!

Sitting on the shelf above the rest is this:

“Save for # 50!” It says.

Of course, now I want to open it first.

This will be so much fun. We’re spending my birthday with our daughter in Newnan. This date is also Thanksgiving Day and two days after mine and Ninja Man’s 32nd anniversary. Between that, Thanksgiving dinner and my special 50th Day gift, I just don’t think I can stand it!

Something else fun about this, is that my friend Angela and I share many of the same interests and remarkably, seem to take on the same hobbies at about the same time, so I know there must be a tea bag or perhaps a fat quarter mixed in among the goodies!

Tune in tomorrow to see what’s in the first package!
